In 2019, the City had the privilege of working with the Auburn branch of the King County Library System and the Sons of Italy to bring eight Little Free Libraries to parks in Auburn. Little Free Libraries (LFLs) are small book-sharing boxes that anyone can set-up and maintain. People can bring a read book to a LFL, leave it in the box, and take a new book that has been donated by someone else. They have popped up all over the world and become very popular.

Here in Auburn, the City maintains 8 LFLs in parks throughout the City. The blue pins in the below map show you where our LFLs are located. Anyone can take and leave books in any of these 8 boxes.

If you have your own Little Free Library, feel free to drop a pin on the map showing us where it is so we can visit it too.

A non-profit called Little Free Library supports this work around the country. They have information on how to maintain a LFL and a map showing all the registered LFLs around the world, it's pretty cool! You'll find them at littlefreelibrary.org or through the link on the right.
