Auburn High School Youth Forum Recap
We held our first Youth Forum at Auburn High School on March 26th! We discussed several community-related issues with students from AP Government and Civics courses. We asked the students two questions and received diverse answers.
What aspects of our community do you think need improvement?
- Funding for the Auburn School District and afterschool activities
- Youth weapon accessibility
- More support for the homeless, especially for those addicted to drugs
- Drug issues, especially in the schools
- Potholes
- Strengthening relations between civilians and people of power
- Social gatherings and community events
- School attendance
- More safe spaces for teens
If together we could take action on one thing to strengthen this community, what would be most important to you?
- More patrolling near unsafe areas
- More community involvement
- Hosting community events to build relationships
- Not being judgmental towards others
- More opportunities for teens' voices to be heard
- Improving community cleanliness and parks
- Funding afterschool activities
- Drug prevention
- Addressing violence
